Words. I've written and edited lots of them - millions, to be more precise - over the course of my 30-year career as a freelance journalist.
I got started writing travel guides for Frommer's in the 1990s, where my word count was rivaled by the mileage I put on my trusty Jeep (R.I.P.) and Saturn (still kicking after passing 300,000 on the odometer). I also worked as a travel correspondent for the New York Daily News, Delta Sky, Frommers.com, and other publications while covering local beats in Denver, namely business and music.
Google bought Frommer's in 2012, and I pivoted to online media, first as managing editor of Confluence Denver, then as editor of CompanyWeek. I currently write on a freelance basis for Neurology Today, ColoradoBiz, Engineering News-Record, Visit Denver, Thirst Colorado, and several other outlets.
I am interested in writing for other publications; the prime allure is the ability to delve deeply into any story, regardless of the subject matter.
